![]() What is the best way to respond when the people you lead on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training always say the same thing? “We love the ideas you’re teaching us about, but we just don’t have the time to make these amazing resources.” This very question has been asked of me many times. And it is why I have decided to take Exceed Education on the next step in our journey to help every day mathematics teachers become the best practitioners they can possibly be. Now, we will provide curriculum resources for teachers, tutors, schools and even parents. All of our resources will be borne out of the desire to inspire teachers and children to exceed in mathematics. All have been used successfully in the classroom, using research-based evidence to refine and improve them at every opportunity. Our promise is that we won’t make resources that haven’t already been tried and tested with positive results. We will bring the best of the Singapore and Shanghai models of best practice together, for the betterment of all teachers delivering the UK National Curriculum, or any appropriate International School variation thereof. At all of our CPD events, we preach about the fundamentals of a good mathematics education: Intelligent Practice, Variation theory (conceptual variation and procedural variation), conceptual understanding, Low-Threshold High Ceiling activities aimed at stretch and challenge for all children, and the importance of developing Problem Solving and Reasoning skills on a daily basis. Our resources will bring together the best of these fundamentals in a way that will save teachers time and allow them to cut straight to the most important part of teaching: the children.
